Job Description

We are actively looking for litigation solicitors with experience in claimant consumer litigation and financial mis-selling claims.

Johnson Law Group is looking for a senior solicitor with 5–10 years PQE who can oversee and assist the Head of Department in driving forward litigated and non-litigated financial mis-selling cases within the firm’s Motor Finance Mis-selling team.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience:

  • Running a large caseload while supervising a team of fee earners handling high volumes of cases
  • Mapping out and implementing case management workflows to streamline processes
  • Creating procedures and precedents and rolling out training to staff
  • Managing a fully litigated caseload for at least 5 years
  • Drafting complaint letters, DSARs, Letters of Claim, court documentation, and client-facing legal correspondence
  • Managing teams while continuing to fee earn personally
  • Meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs
  • Handling evidence gathering, disclosure, statements of truth, interlocutory applications, and service of documents
  • Managing costs recovery strategy, costs schedules, negotiations, and detailed assessments

Requirements (Must Have)

  • Qualified Solicitor (minimum 5 years PQE)
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and follow documented processes and procedures
  • Ability to train junior staff and create training manuals
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask
  • High level of professionalism and strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

Candidates should also possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
  • Experience with County Court and High Court claims processes
  • Knowledge of:
    • Part 36 offers
    • Disclosure
    • Forms H & Q
    • Settlement orders
    • Trial bundle preparation
    • Briefing counsel
    • Costs schedules, negotiations, and detailed assessments
  • Understanding of pre-action protocols, Conditional Fee Agreements, and Damages Based Agreements
  • Ability to devise tactics and processes to maximise costs recovery
